404: I’m sorry...

The URL you dialed is no longer in service. Whatever you were looking for doesn't currently exist at this address. In fact, it’s kind of empty here. This is it. It’s like the space between things. It’s there, but it isn’t really there.

There’s not really much more to say. It could be my fault for deleting what used to be here. It probably is, in fact. The likelyhood that it was just you making a typo, nah. I don’t think that’s it at all. Nobody types in URLs these days. It’s all clicky clicky and follow the search engine links, isn’t it?

Digression time: When I lived in Silicon Valley around the time of Netscape, I’d drive past a sign on the 101 every day that would make me laugh. It was one of those signs listing the mileage to far away cities. San Jose 15, Gilroy 40.

The last line was: “Los Angeles 404”

That sign cracked me up every single time. Get it? “Los Angeles: Not Found”

I don’t think it’s there anymore. They did some construction on the interchange between the 101 and 85 a few years back I haven’t spotted it since. Damn. I wish I had a picture of it. It’d be perfect for this page.

But hey, if you’d like to check out something on this site that’s not the result of an error—it doesn’t matter whose error, mine, Google’s, whoever’s—then maybe the place to start is my homepage.
